Supervision for UK Clinical Psychologists

The image depicts the two psychologists, engaged in a conversation during clinical supervision.

As a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) certified Clinical Psychologist (registration number PYL37618), I am able to offer supervision for qualified Clinical Psychologists in the UK. Sessions can be online (nationwide) or face-to-face in Heslington, York. I currently have availability for new supervisees on weekdays within working hours. The frequency can vary from weekly to monthly, depending on what best suits your needs.

My supervisory style is rooted in compassion and I always endeavour to adapt my approach to suit the distinct professional development needs of each supervisee. My focus is on fostering a collaborative supervisory relationship, and I am committed to creating a supportive and safe environment.

Where helpful, I am happy for supervision to be explicitly guided by supervision models, such as Inskipp and Procter’s (1993) interactive model of clinical supervision. However, this decision will be solely dependent on the approach you decide will work best for you. I always encourage contracting, conversations about social GGRRAAACCEEESSS, power dynamics, and how we can cultivate an environment where we both feel safe enough to provide two-way feedback. This is to help ensure the supervisor-supervisee relationship is effective, reflective, and remains under review.

Specialised Interests

In my private practice, I integrate elements from Compassion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Person-Centred approaches.

My areas of expertise extend to supervising cases involving Eating Disorders (including Bulimia, Binge Eating, and Anorexia), Depression, Anxiety, Self-Esteem and Confidence issues, Stress Management, Perfectionism.

I have experience working with both teenage and adult populations, in a variety of community and inpatient settings (NHS and private settings). I also have experience in adapting approaches to suit individuals with autism.

Although I have had a lot of experience supervising trainee psychologists, assistant psychologists, support workers and CAMHS practitioners, I have only provided formal 1:1 clinical supervision to a handful of qualified Clinical Psychologists to date. This is due to me having worked full-time in the NHS since qualifying, in teams where opportunities to supervise other qualified psychologists were limited. I made the transition from the NHS (8a) to full-time private practice in December 2023 and I am hoping to grow my supervisory practice. Therefore, I have decided to charge £80 per hour for online and face-to-face supervision sessions. Please feel free to contact me to arrange a free 15 minute call to see if we’re a good fit.
