Meet Lorna Hunter – Family & Couples Psychotherapist
I’ve had the pleasure of collaborating with Lorna Hunter for many years. Her work as a Family Psychotherapist is marked by deep compassion, extensive knowledge, and a flexible, client-centred approach.
Lorna’s strength lies not only in helping individuals and families reconnect with their inner resources, but also in her ability to gently guide them through the process of identifying and shifting unhelpful relational patterns. She creates a secure therapeutic environment, which allows people to engage with difficult topics without feeling judged.
She works systemically—acknowledging that patterns emerge within relationships rather than placing blame on individuals. Her calm, steady presence and readiness to explore complex issues with honesty and kindness means those she works with often feel both supported and understood, even in emotionally turbulent moments.

In Lorna’s Words…
Each person carries a unique story shaped by personal history and relationships. These experiences shape how we connect with others, how we view ourselves, and how we function in day-to-day life. While these influences can support healthy relationships and self-esteem, they can also contribute to struggles with communication, connection, or confidence.
When emotional challenges arise, you might feel isolated or uncertain in your relationships, or find it hard to feel secure in yourself without reassurance from others.
As a qualified Family Psychotherapist, I provide a safe and reflective space where we can explore how past experiences are influencing your current relationships, behaviour, mood, and sense of wellbeing.
Whether you’re seeking therapy as an individual, as a couple, or as a family, we’ll work together to discover the approach that helps you better understand yourself and your relational dynamics.

Working With Lorna
Lorna is an associate of Verdure Psychology. Her profile is featured on our website, and we are happy to support the initial connection if you’re interested in working with her.
While she shares our values and commitment to high standards, Lorna operates as an independent therapist. This means that any therapy arrangements—including scheduling, communication, and payments—will be managed directly by her. This model helps maintain clarity and streamline communication.

When you arrive at the Innovation Centre, please follow the instructions on the front door to inform the receptionist of your arrival via the intercom. Please say you have an appointment with Verdure Psychology and, once you are buzzed in, kindly take a seat in reception and your therapist will come and meet you. Free car parking is available for those travelling by car (the car park stretches right around the building). Please find a space and ask the receptionist for a badge to display on your dashboard. It’s a large car park but, in the unlikely event there are no spaces free, you may also use the Biocentre car park adjacent and request a badge from their reception.
The car park (outlined in green) stretches around the building so there’s plenty of space. The receptionist will give you a free pass (on request) that you need to display in your car to avoid getting a fine.
Front Entrance of the Innovation centre
To the right of the front doors is a lift which provides access to the first floor (where the clinic room is located).
